Description
After a long time (with skipped challenges) I am trying to be an active member of SpeedpaintStudies Group.
Beside my works, I know I need some practice to improve on many fields of digital painting...
May Challenge Theme : Food.
Media : Digital Painting.
Work Time :approx. 40 minutes each.

Common things to answer are:
►What did you learn from doing this study?
Because this is the first time I drew food, I've learned sketching up food, and working with small parts (as in the sushi).
►What did you find difficult?
It was difficult to keep the size and proportions. The textures become blurred and it is hard to make them realistic (still didn't menage to make them realistic).
►What area's do you wish to improve on?
I would like to improve on the following: proportions and realistic textures.

Looking pretty good, the textures are definitely coming along. One tip for getting textures looking more realistic is paying attention to the small colour variations - when I did the sushi a while back, I noticed that because the rice was slightly translucent and reflective at the same time, so it took on hints of the nearby colours. For instance, the grains next to the nori were a bit darker/grey in the centre, etc.
